Description
Research showed that hearing loss is one of the risk factors for dementia. However, it is difficult for family members or caregivers to identify hearing loss in people with dementia due to their deteriorated cognition and difficult behaviors. Getting people with dementia to have a hearing assessment can be challenging as well. Addressing hearing impairment with hearing aids can help to improve the engagement of demented elderly with the environment and thus improve their quality of life. It is essential to educate families and healthcare practitioners about strategies for managing hearing loss among people with dementia.
By the end of this webinar, you will be able to:
· Understand the connection between hearing loss and dementia
· Identify the early signs of hearing loss in people with dementia.
· Know the assistive devices that are helpful for people with dementia.
· Learn the coping strategies for hearing impairment among people with dementia
An e-certificate and 1 CPD are granted at the end of the training.
