Music in Dementia Care

Description:

Research showed that music plays an important role in managing symptoms of dementia including improving emotions and socialization. However, there is insufficient knowledge of dementia and how to use music in a safe way among the care staff. Besides that, there is also limited diversity of music activities offered to people with dementia. This webinar aimed in elevating the knowledge of music in dementia care from the perspective of non-music therapists.

By end of the webinar, participants will be able:

·         To learn the connection between music and the brain.

·         To understand the benefits of music in people with dementia.

·         To engage people with dementia in music with consideration and precautions.

A certificate and 1 CPD point will be given at the end of the webinar.
